Dehu, a village known as Shri Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj's abode, is situated on the banks of the Indrayani River within the limits of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in Haveli Taluka of Pune District.The area of the city is 13.71 square kilometers including Dehugaon, Vitthawadi, Malinagar in the Nagar Panchayat. According to the 2011 census, the population of the city is 18569.After the establishment of the Nagar Panchayat, the Nagar Panchayat has been divided into 17 wards and 17 corporators have been elected in the general election 2022.
Famous pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra include Dehu.The city has a temple of Vitthal Rukmini, which has a Swayambhu murti since 1351. Lakhs of devotees visit Tukobaraya every year.Three yatras are celebrated in the city with great devotion. It includes Palkhi Sohala, Tukaram Beej and Kartiki Yatra. During this period Akhand Dehungari becomes devoted with devotion.
Tukaram Maharaj's younger Chiranjeev Narayan Bua in AD. From 1685 Palkhi ceremony started from Dehu to Pandharpur. There are ancient and interesting places in the city like Shankara Temple (Siddheshwar Temple), Vaikunthagaman Temple, Mashancha Doh, Gadgebaba Dharamshala, Gatha Temple.
